HOW TO APPLY TO RENT A HOME

Direct applications can be made to Adaptive Housing for any of our housing.

We recommend contacting us first to discuss your housing needs and confirm availability and timelines on properties that are upcoming.

Adaptive Housing will then send you an application form for one of our properties and you can provide that information back in any format that works for you.

  • You can email back the application

  • You can mail in the application

  • You can phone or video call us and we will fill it in for you.

Adaptive Housing is a strong supporter of assisting young people out of aged care and have helped many people transition from this accommodation into our bespoke housing.  We also work closely in with hospitals supporting discharge onto SDA properties and helping people to explore their options.

Live Alone Requests

Adaptive Housing often gets requests from people who have a strong desire to live by themselves and build on their independence.  Participants that have High Physical Support needs who want to potentially study or work from home or need space for a family member to occasionally stay would be well suited to this type of accommodation.  Some people may also have medical needs or equipment that may benefit from the extra space. Living alone in a 2 bedroom unit or Apartment may work well for those individuals.

Shared Properties

If you want to share a property with someone and are interested in one of our houses please make contact with us. Our properties, if shared between two people always offer two living spaces and ensuites so people can have company but also their own space. Our robust houses are uniquely designed where people maybe sharing a house but the property can actually be split in two if required with door separation. This could be advantageous for participants who maybe overwhelmed by others and also create some independence but still under a shared model.

Requests to Purpose Build

On occasion we have also purpose built housing for people to meet their needs when they make an enquiry with us.  Those houses are usually shared properties with one other participant. We have also committed to one 3 bedroom home for a group of people with high care needs moving from an older property that no longer works for them.  Moving to a modern SDA property designed from the ground up in consultation with the participants, family's and Occupational Therapists will make a great improvement to quality of life.

We encourage people to contact us prior to submitting an application form to help with guidance on eligibility and we can answer any additional questions that you may have. If you have seen a property or have a housing request you want to discuss with us please feel free to call or email.
